Insane family home

Eefde is a lovely village between Gorssel and Zutphen on the edge of the Achterhoek. A special place where style and peace come together. Where children still romp 'old school'. Where the effect of nature can be felt every day. The friendly family house has been there since 1902. The charm is from then; the luxury from now.

Understated living

As you drive into the grounds, it feels like your weekend has already begun: plenty of greenery and beautiful vistas. Once inside, a pleasantly serene atmosphere awaits. Beautifully chosen Farrow & Ball shades on cleanly plastered walls enhance the effect of the authentic ornaments. Downstairs, there is plenty of space. Thanks to the ensuite bedrooms, conservatory and veranda, you will always find a spot for a book or good conversation. The stylish borde staircase is bathed in light. From the bath you look - windows wide open - far away over the greenery. In the renovation, only the very best was good enough. Quality and ease of maintenance were always paramount in the choice of materials.

Dreamy outside

The French sheep fences match the rural atmosphere perfectly. There are dreamy seats and terraces everywhere. The one by the walnut tree is a favourite: 'because you can look out so beautifully over the nature behind'. In summer, the terrace by the swimming pond wins. From the living room you overlook two leafy red beeches. The path leads to the vegetable garden and wood store. You do have to share all this beauty with hares, birds, deer and squirrels. For (grand)children, it is a distinct place for wonderful childhood memories.

Working from home

The outbuilding is accessible from two sides. The rear, the part, is now used as a garage/barn and a gym. The front, the coach house, has an attic and serves as an office. Clients or staff use the private entrance. But maybe you have a completely different use in mind. Whatever your plans: there is plenty of parking space and a bus stop right outside the door.

Is it weekend already?

Your free day starts with a relaxed breakfast in the conservatory. The sun is slowly climbing above the tree line. Perhaps you have already gone for a run or a few laps in your own swimming pond. After breakfast, the children disappear into the garden. Go swimming, trampoline jumping or pitch a tent so they can camp in the garden tonight. And you? Will it be the hammock, lumbering or all together to the woods? In the afternoon, a drink turns naturally into dinner. The

sun sets over the veranda. Will you light the fire for a while? In the distance, the call of the tawny owl can be heard.

Gorssel and Zutphen

Not for nothing do Gorssel and Zutphen have great appeal to people from all over the country. There are surrounding forests, vast floodplains and little beaches along the river IJssel. Gourmets discover the tastiest delicacies in the traditionally dignified Gorssel. The historic Hanseatic city of Zutphen is known for its anthroposophical (educational) offerings. Eefde has two primary schools, Gorssel also has a public primary school and nearby Joppe has an 'outdoor school'. Secondary school pupils and sportsmen also have plenty of choices in the immediate area.
