The architect describes this villa as follows: 'A purely cultural form that manifests itself in the landscape in an extreme way: two completely closed sides clad in the ever-changing Corten steel contrast with two completely open glass sides.

The landscape in which the villa is situated is designed very naturally, as if a natural dike breach had occurred in the cultivated IJssel landscape, which was then untouched by human hands. This villa is set in its own private lake with swaying reeds, trees and lots of water birds that also provide a constantly changing 360-degree panorama.

The estate is ranked under the Natural Beauty Act. The ranking allows for tax advantages such as exemption from transfer tax, exemption from real estate tax for the unbuilt parts of the estate and (partial) exemption from inheritance and gift tax. However, most of this estate is closed to the public, guaranteeing privacy in and around the villa.
