Description

Exclusive living at Villa Renschdael, a stunning 19th-century listed building

Exclusive living at Villa Renschdael: a magnificent 19th-century listed building in the Neo-Renaissance style, where living is taken to a whole new level. Living in this superbly maintained listed building is a unique experience, combining historic charm with all the modern comforts one could wish for.
The elegant architecture and magnificent interior reflect the prosperity and ambitions of an era in which Horst gradually developed from an agricultural village into a town of regional significance.

With respect for its history, Villa Renschdael has been renovated, modernised and cherished, transforming it into a polished and sparkling diamond in a central location in Horst. Here, you have the rare opportunity to become the new owner of a luxury flat – of which only four have been created. Each flat has a unique layout, all offering stunning views of the park-like garden. Here, you won’t be living in just any flat, but in a unique property steeped in history and atmosphere.
The two ground-floor flats are zoned in a way that allows you to combine living and working. There is a communal cellar, suitable for wine storage, amongst other things.

Luxury, style and comfort reign supreme in the communal entrance hall and the surrounding areas. Marble floors, a beautiful staircase with a high atrium and heavy panelled doors set the tone in the mansion. Several original features have also been preserved in the flats, making living at Villa Renschdael a unique experience. The park-like garden was designed by Jan Joris, a well-known Belgian landscape architect from the Brasschaat region.

History
Villa Elisabeth, as this impressive mansion was originally known, counted Doctor Henri Peters amongst its residents. The elegant cast-iron work bearing his name on the front door serves as a reminder of this. Between 1881 and 1900, the property served a unique dual purpose: as the residence of Dr Henri Peters, whilst the outbuildings were used as Hendrik Lucas’s silk factory. Whilst Horst continued to grow and modernise, Villa Elisabeth remained a tangible reminder of the economic boom of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

In 1929, the mansion was converted into two dwellings, with locally well-known figures such as the Vullings and the Van Daals as its fortunate residents. Following a large-scale renovation in 1992, the property was converted into an office and residential villa. And now, with respect for its history and character, Villa Renschdael has been transformed into a unique place to live in comfort. Stylish living with lasting value, exclusive with a distinctive character and prestige. Living in a listed building is a lasting investment in heritage, quality and appeal.

Combining living and working
Thanks to its mixed-use designation, the villa is ideally suited to combining living and working. A home office or practice offers comfort, flexibility and a prestigious image in a unique location. Depending on your personal circumstances and the applicable tax rules, a separate workspace may offer tax advantages. Always seek advice from a tax specialist on this matter. This could include potential tax deductions for, amongst other things, furnishings, internet, energy and maintenance costs.
An inspiring working environment in your own home: practical, comfortable and potentially financially advantageous.

For lovers of space, the outdoors, character and history
This exceptional property offers a rare combination of comfort, character and versatility. Thanks to its single-level layout, the flats are ideally suited to those seeking future-proof, comfortable living with all daily amenities within easy reach.
Furthermore, the property offers plenty of opportunities to combine living and working. The available space and layout are ideal for a home office, practice or studio, allowing tranquillity and professionalism to come together effortlessly.
The location is a further advantage: centrally situated in relation to major roads and international transport links, making it ideal for those who regularly work or travel across the border.

Lovers of character and history will be immediately drawn to the property’s authentic charm and the atmosphere it exudes. The flats form part of a listed building. The interplay of stylistic features, ambience and surroundings gives the whole a distinctive and timeless character.
This property also offers an attractive base for buyers who value space, outdoor living and an active lifestyle. The surrounding area offers plenty of opportunities for relaxation, enjoying nature and exclusive leisure facilities.
