Description

Introduction:
Every day enjoy a panoramic view of the professional and pleasure boats, the Limburg Governorate and Ceramique. One of the most beautiful villas in Maastricht is being transformed into two state-of-the art apartments of exceptional quality and generous size. Here all living wishes become reality and enjoyment is written with capital letters.

Location:
This unique project will be realized on the Blekerij, a quiet street right on the banks of the Meuse. After a short walk you are in the middle of the historic center of Maastricht or in the district Sint Pieter with many high-level amenities. Within a few minutes you drive over the Kennedy Bridge towards the A2/A79 freeways or follow the Prins Bisschopsingel towards Hasselt. A little further along the Maas bank are the marina and on the other side of the Hoge Kanaaldijk you can walk towards the beautiful nature around the Sint Pietersberg.

The Apartments:
If you become the new occupant of Louis or Leonard you will get ownership of a brand new apartment or penthouse in casco condition, which means that you can have the finishing done completely on your own and to your own wishes. The basement provides space for a shared bicycle cellar, garbage storage, a technical room and storage rooms. The private grounds will be set up as a communal garden and parking area, including charging points for hybrid cars and secured with an automatic sliding gate and video intercom system.

Leonard, 1st floor
Leonard is accessed by elevator on the monumental staircase in the common reception hall. With approximately 174 m² of living space, this apartment has unprecedented possibilities in filling your living needs. The view of the Maas bank invites unconditional enjoyment, especially when the morning sun shines over the surface of the water. On the upper floors, balconies offer breathtaking views of much of Maastricht on the east side of the Meuse. The high ceilings and the light in the intended living room make this apartment unique in the wide area. This apartment has two parking spaces in the shared parking lot and two storage rooms in the basement.

Building history
The Eclectic villa at Blekerij 52 was commissioned by the family of Louis Leonard Joseph L'hoëst. Originally, the adjacent property at Blekerij 50 was part of the villa, but was later split off. L'hoëst was involved in the establishment of the paper mill L'hoëst, Weustenraad & Cie, later KNP and today SAPPI, around the middle of the nineteenth century. The architects responsible for the villa were Remont & Fils, in Liege (B).The construction of this villa in all probability took place in the period between 1880 and 1890.
The villa is situated in a small area on the western bank of the Meuse, originally separated from the villa park by the filled-in canal to Liège. Because of this location, the villa is strongly connected to the nineteenth -century urban development of Maastricht. Of great importance because of its historical -spatial relationship with surrounding waters, roads and facilities.
After the abolition of the fortification law in 1867, the vacant building land on the south side of the city of Maastricht, was "taken by the wealthy Maastricht people." These had a quantity of lavish villas built here starting in 1887. The villa L'hoëst is one of the first examples built in the "Villapark".
