The location

The Barns is now located in the municipality of Weesp. However, in 2019 the municipality of Weesp will be reorganized to become part of the municipality of Amsterdam.

The centre of Amsterdam and Schiphol Airport are easily accessible by car. The infrastructure to and from Amsterdam and Schiphol via the a1, a9 or n236 has been completely renewed in recent years, making it possible to reach the city centre of Amsterdam in approximately 20 minutes without traffic jams.

The train station is about 4 km away from the barns and has 8 connections to Amsterdam (travel time of about 14 minutes) and 4 connections to Schiphol Airport (travel time of about 22 minutes).

Education in Bussum and Hilversum are excellent secondary schools. The choice of school is free. The schools can be reached by bicycle by means of a traffic-safe route; 6 km in approx. 23 minutes by bike on a non-electric bicycle.

Spatial planning in the future

The location in the nature reserve and the associated emphyteusis of the association Natuurmonumenten is a kind of guarantee that the destination will not be changed just like that. Even if the municipality of Amsterdam is to carry out the competent authority. The leasehold canon can therefore, with a wink, be seen as a kind of insurance premium for it.
