Monumental farmhouse at an impressive location

The monumental farmhouse ‘Aldenhaag’, with history dating back to 1743, is located on 5000 m² freehold land, on the old embankments of the rivers Waal and Linge at the characteristic village Zoelen, and used to be part of the impressive estate ‘Soelen’.
The tranquil location and the steps on the southwest are very atmospheric. From here there is an amazing view on the ornamental lake and a large portion of the beautiful estate which includes various types of groups of old trees surrounded by grasslands.

On the north side of the farm there is a private road through the electronic main gate to an atmospheric sight of the courtyard with boxwood batches, old cobblestones and antique IJssel stones. One of the things you can find on the right is the coach house, constructed in 2005. Characteristic is the (carport) space, left half-open on the long front side, and the other part which hides a double garage with office space and a large upper floor. On the left, hidden in privacy behind an old boundary wall for the yard, is a large swimming pool with terrace, and a little further the back house of the farm. The entrance and the hall are important elements of the former ‘part’. There are still stable windows here, and some wooden trusses, just like in the entire farm. The current owner has thoroughly tackled the entire farm since purchasing it in 2005, while respecting and maintaining historic and authentic elements. The grandeur of its history now forms a special combination with its contemporary appearance and comfort. For example, in the ‘deel’ (‘deel’ is the original work space in a barn, in the past also used for threshing) there are partition walls, creating a nice view, made of black steel profiles with glass, and there is floor heating (2015) here for a large part, just like in the other part of the farm. The ‘deel’ forms the passage to the contemporary kitchen with stately ceilings and all kinds of modern appliances. It transitions into the historic kitchen diner area, where the age-old fireplace is the focal point. The antique, old Dutch tiles offer special depictions, with not one of them being the same. Here is the access to the beautiful upstairs room and the terrace facing the west with a beautiful view on a historic piece of the Netherlands, the so-called ‘motte Aldenhaag’, the Essenheuvel, surrounded by canals.
In the kitchen diner, behind a door, there are (hidden) stairs leading to the first floor and giving access to the arched larder in the cellar. In addition, there is a passage to various office rooms and through the right access to the particularly atmospheric sitting room, facing the southwest. It is in open connection to the upstairs room. Here there are also authentic details referring to the past. The view of the porch and the abundant green is breathtaking.

The renovation of the upper floor was rigorous. It now consists of the master bedroom with private bathroom and dressing room, five large bedrooms, a second bathroom and a laundry room. All with custom closets. In addition, there are also attic stairs heading to the loft, which covers the entire surface area of the house.
